LEPC District 12 Meeting

10 September 2015

The outreach team, pictured here, presented at Local Emergency Planning Committee #12 meeting on 8/20. The towns of Windsor county  represent LEPC 12. Representatives from Randolph were concerned with the federal definition of what a “Public Safety Entity” actually means. Tess Gauthier, project manager of the Vermont Public Safety Broadband Commission advised them that FirstNet is still determining the definition of a PSE, but that in Vermont we are considering town entities within the definition of a PSE. Town entities would include public works, water, sewer, and electricity. Other members were curious about the role of satellites in the system. LEPC #12 was supportive and enthusiastic about the National Public Safety Broadband Network and advised that they would encourage the remaining towns in Windsor county to submit the public safety entity survey to www.psbc.vermont.gov

The FirstNet project is housed within the Radio Technology Services unit of the Department of Public Safety.
